  1. The baptisia is one of my favorites!
    The range of blue color it develops throughout the season is really unique. It’s a hardy plant, very easy to grow. Apparently it lasts so long that old homesteads are sometimes discovered by the false indigo growing in a square or rectanular pattern, indicating the foundation of a home that used to be surrounded by the plant.
